Crocs run to benefit 'Smokey' children

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Crocs Prepair To Run firing off tomorrow at the SM Mall of Asia grounds will not only be a showcase of running prowess among the participants but will also serve as a fund-raiser for children of Smokey Mountain.

The sponsoring Crocs, Inc., with All Condition Gear Philippines, Inc. (ACGPI), the exclusive distributor of crocstm in the country, said part of the proceeds of the race will go to WE International Philippines, an organization that gives medical, educational and other assistance to the children of Smokey Mountain.

A registered NGO (non-government organization), WEIP also raises awareness and provides sustainable ways to respond to poverty in the country by facilitating economic development through education projects, micro lending, and sustainable business development services.

A total prize of P50,000 is up for grabs in the event, tipped to draw a banner field of 2,000 in the 3k, 5k and 10k races. Registration is still open at various Crocs concept stores in Bonifacio High Street, SM MOA, SM Megamall, Promenade, Greenhills, Gateway, Cubao, Alabang Town Center, Greenbelt 5 and Trinoma.

A buyer of pair of Crocs will also get a free entry to the event, sanctioned by PATAFA and held to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle among kids, youth, and adults as well as test the participants’ strength and endurance.

There will also be free breakfast for participants after the race, sponsored by Alaska as well as Rogue and Action & Fitness magazines and a finisher T-shirt. Rudy Project Sunglasses will be given away to the winners and discount vouchers to all runners. Toby’s Sports will raffle off gift certificates.
