MANILA, Philippines - In-form Angelo Que shot a second straight three-under par 68 and moved within one off Lin Wen-hong of Taiwan halfway through the Macau Open at the Macau Golf and Country Club in Macau yesterday.
Sustaining the form that netted him a joint seventh place finish in last week’s European Masters, Que knocked down three birdies on his homeward trip at the front of the par-71 layout, finishing with a 32 for another 68.
With a 136 total, the 31-year-old Que firmed up his bid for a third crown on the Asian Tour as he trailed Lin by just one after the Taiwanese fired a 67 to grab the lead at 135.
Que, who surged to No. 10 on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, opened his bid in the $500,000 tournament with a 34-34 card Thursday, also leaning on a fiery windup of three birdies in the last seven holes.
