MANILA, Philippines - Villamor, with Marissa Romano and Jo Barredo leading the charge, came through with a 190 as it romped away with a 20-point victory over Cebu Country Club in Ruby division while Riviera routed Baguio with a closing 180 for a 63-point romp in Pearl division of the WGAP-Luzvimin golf tournament at the Fairways and Bluewater in Boracay recently.
Romano fired 42 points while Barredo scored 40 as the Villamor ladies pooled a 54-hole total of 560 to capture the crown in the tournament organized by Women’s Golf Association of the Phils. Other scorers for Villamor were Melanie Cruz (37), Cora Aguinaldo (37)and Eimee Hedeager (34).
Cebu Country Club drew 52 points from Mary Kim Hong while Ada Martinez, Mercy Bejar, Lucille Colina and Carmelita Lava had 39, 36, 30, 28, respectively, as it assembled a 185 and a 540 for second. John Hay, led by Nanette Filler and Joy Sevilla’s identical 41 points, placed third with a 525 after a 183.
Forest Hills came in fourth with a 521 after a 185 followed by Bacolod (177-494) and Negros (161-477).

Riviera also dominated the Pearl division, running away with a 63-point victory over Baguio with a 180-497. Baguio had 143-434 for second followed by Manila Golf (146-421), Victorias (138-410), Alta Vista (139-406) and Mactan Island (125-387).
Gilda Medestomas shot 39 points, Josie Amon and Marty Fernando added 37 points apiece while Lourdes Roxas and Raquel Banawa tossed in 36 and 31 points to anchor Riviera’s three-day romp.
