MANILA, Philippines - Lito Rebong rolled 2,058 pinfalls to capture the Eagle Ridge Open Mixed Singles Bowling Championship recently at the newly renovated bowling hall of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite.
Rebong finished 51 pins ahead of Joel Maningas, who rolled a 10-game series with handicap of 2,058 while Larry Tinio, who topped the qualifying round with 1,326, could only bowl 2,007 and settled for third place.
Rebong clinched the top prize of P30,000 and a trophy as winner of the inaugural which is the biggest so far staged by Eagle Ridge. Maningas went home with P20,000 and a trophy while Tinio got P15,000 and a trophy aside from a P1,500 bonus for topping the qualifier.
Rounding out the top 10 were Jun Nierva (1,955), Vida Baquir (1,944), Teddy Angeles (1,938), Dom Domalaon (1,927), Alice Cruz (1,925), Lee Soon Kyeong (1,918) and Louie Bianzon (1,899).
Aside from her P5,000 prize as fifth finisher, Baquir also got a P3,000 extra as the ladies top placer.
Ranny Baquir posted the high game of 255 among the men and Lee Soon-keying’s 235 was the best among the ladies.
Aside from four championship golf courses, Eagle Ridge boasts of the most complete sports club facilities in the country. It also has amenities for swimming, basketball, table tennis and lawn tennis not to mention its gym facilities.
