MANILA, Philippines - Paul Anthony Capule, Hadassah Louise Diaz and Jose Miguel Dipasupil bested their rivals from Korea, Japan, Macau and Hong Kong as the Philippines captured three gold medals in the 13th Hong Kong International Long Distance Finswimming Competition 2009 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong recently.
The 21-year-old Capule clocked 54 minutes and 39 seconds to bag the gold medal in the 3,000m event while Diaz, 15, topped the women’s 1,500m competition with a 19-minute, 35-second clocking.
Dipasupil churned out a 20-minute, 48-second performance in bagging the gold medal in the men’s 1,500m event.
It was a solid performance by the Filipino finswimmers, who trained under coach Hernando Diaz, in long distance/open water competition in the sport.
