MANILA, Philippines - Lyceum of Subic Bay crushed Centro Escolar University, 77-57, to stay at solo third in the ninth NAASCU men’s basketball tournament at the Pasay Sports Complex.
The Sharks of former national player-turned- coach Kerwin McCoy and manager Alfonso Borda leaned on Jessie James Collado, Vergel Baydo, Steven Carter and Max Fuentebella to register their 10th win in 13 games for solo third place behind defending champion San Sebastian Colege-Cavite (13-1) and University of Manila (12-2).
Collado, a 6-4 forward, finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Sharks, followed by Baydo with 10, Carter with 9 and Velasco with 8.
Jeric Magno paced the Scorpions with 19 points.
In the other game, STI Colleges demolished newcomer Our Lady of Fatima University, 74-45, for its ninth win in 13 outings.
Norman Ihalas and Gerald Bautista scored 13 and 11 points for the Olympians of coach Vic Ycasiano.
