MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top supercross riders resume their quest as the NAMSSA Philippines Supercross Championships dubbed Mayor Jun Bernabe Cup stages Round 7 Aug. 21-22 at the SM City Bicutan Speedworld Circuit.
About 100 riders from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are participating in the unique night race sponsored by CAT Monark Heavy Equipment, SM City Bicutan, Signeffex, JBS, Topmaster, GCG pipes, Therasil and Inside Racing.
The event starts at 2 p.m. with the riders competing until 10 p.m.
Defending motocross champion Kenneth San Andres will try to keep his solo leadership in both the Pro Open and the Pro 125 classes against equally tough rivals.
San Andres tallies 250 points in the Pro Open class with Jan Carlo Rellosa just eight points behind.
The reigning champ is also ahead in the Pro 125 with 230 points, ahead of Rellosa (228) and veteran Jolet Jao (140).
