WNCAA: Four teams go for number three

MANILA, Philippines - Defending basketball champion Lyceum, surprise leader University of Asia and the Pacific and two other senior squads seek win number three when the 40th WNCAA resumes this weekend in separate venues.

Lyceum, which won its first two matches by an average of 42.5 points, tackles Philippine Women’s University at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the St. Scholastica gym. College of St. Benilde will join Lyceum on top of Senior A if it beats Centro Escolar University in the 10 a.m. match.

Senior B leader UA&P takes on San Beda College Alabang in the 1 p.m. schedule. The Rizal Technological University-St. Scholastica’s College tussle opens hostilities at 8:30 a.m. while Emilio Aguinaldo College and La Consolacion College Manila, collide in the 2:30 p.m. main game.

Lyceum likewise goes for a third win in volleyball tomorrow at the RTU gym. The Lady Pirates meet the LCCM Blue Royals at 9:30 a.m. 

The 40th WNCAA is being supported by Monster Radio RX 93..1, Goody, IBC 13, Manila Bulletin, Sports Digest, Muscle Tape, Burlington Biofresh, MJC Photography and Macgraphics Carranz.

In junior basketball games today, host Angelicum College and Miriam College dispute the lead at 1 p.m. Also eyeing a share of the lead are San Beda, if it beats La Salle College in the 8:30 a.m. game, and rookie team St. Jude Catholic School if it prevails over St. Stephen’s High School at 2:30 p.m..

Midgets volleyball likewise debuts today at the RTU gym with defending champion St. Scholastica playing Miriam at 8 a.m. and De La Salle Zobel going up against St. Jude at 9 a.m.
