MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top golfing ladies and their guests take center stage today as they vie for top honors in various divisions in the fourth Highlands Ladies Cup at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay.
A maximum field of 160 will tee-off in the shotgun start tournament at 8:30 a.m. after the ceremonial tee-off to be graced by Tagaytay Highlands president Jerry Tiu, Willy Ocier, vice chair of Tagaytay Highlands, CATS Motors president Felix Ang, Pilipinas Shell chairman and president Edgar Chua and Inquirer chairperson Marixi Prieto.
Fabulous prizes are up for grabs in different categories in the 18-hole tournament, to be played under the System 36 scoring format and held to foster camaraderie among country’s top golfing lady executives and corporate bigwigs plus their guests in the government and private sectors.
A roundtrip ticket for two to the US, courtesy of Northwest Airlines, is at stake for hole-in-one feats while Club Car and Yamaha are also giving away brand-new golf carts for aces on designated holes in the tournament backed by San Miguel Corp. and CATS Motors as platinum sponsors.
The event is organized by the Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter headed by chairperson Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, president Dionne Cu and officials Hedy See, Rosalind Wee and Connie Mamaril.
Unilever and Pacific on Line are the event’s gold sponsors while Pagcor, Pilipinas Shell, Smart, Security Bank, Bank of Commerce, Dream Satellite, Bingo Bonanza and Highlands Prime make up the silver backers.
