Benito's victories power Ready2Race

-

MANILA, Philippines - Ready2Race pulled off another prolific performance behind the more daring and determined feats of Roby Benito, Joey Orduna and Juha Turalba recently in the fifth leg of the 2009 Magnolia Pure Water Karting Super Series at the Enchanted Kingdom EKart Track in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

After his Asian Karting title-clinching feat, the 14-year-old Benito scored another double feat, bagging both the ROK overall and ROK Junior crowns with the big support of Tuason Racing School, Tony Kart, OTK parts, HJC Auto Helmets, Sparco Racing, AIM Racing gauges, Oakley Race Gear, Active Group, Malarayat Golf and Country Club, Antonio’s, Asia Overseas Transport, Anyro Rent-a-Car, Sanyo Seiki Stainless Steel Corp., Bauan Doctors General Hospital, and Cattleya Resort.

Finishing third in the pre-final heat, he patiently stuck close in the early goings before pulling a quick dive on Javi Benitez on the 15th lap to wrest the lead for good.

Benito took the checkered flag in 13 minutes, 52.080 seconds or just 0.105 of a second ahead of Benitez.

Teammate Joey Orduna checked in 1.42 seconds behind Benito to claim the runner-up honors in the ROK Junior class and wind up third in the ROK overall division. Still, he keeps a solid grip of the lead in both categories, making him still the top contender as the Philippines’ official bet in the World ROK Championship this October in Lonato, Italy.

Juha Turalba, the Ready2Race stalwart, ended fourth in the ROK overall class.

Hongkong-based Matthew Solomon and Joseph Tumambing also delivered first runner-up honors for Ready2Race. Solomon made it second in the ROK Novice class while Tumambing, who was leading most of the way, managed to claim a runner-up finish despite figuring in a collision.

Jennifer Tumambing and Korean Daniel Park also unveiled brave fight with their fourth place finishes.

Tumambing, the lone female driver in her class, gave her male rivals a tough fight before ending third runner-up in the ROK Novice class while Park worked his way up from seventh place to end up fourth in the Formula SL Novice division.

“We’re happy that the boys are consistently delivering in every race,” said Ready2Race manager Chito Benito.
