Cantada Sports hosts Tinga Cup

-

MANILA, Philippines – Amateur boxing gets an added push in its bid for the elusive Olympic gold with the staging of the Mayor Freddie Tinga Cup National Invitational Amateur Boxing Championships on Aug. 14-16 at the Don Ambrosio Gym of the Cantada Sports Center in Bagumbayan, Taguig.

Presented by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and organized by the Joe Cantada Sports in coordination with the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines, the three-day event is expected to draw the best and promising boxers from many parts of the country who all share the dream of bringing home the much-coveted mint from the Olympics.

“We in Joe Cantada Sports have been providing regular amateur boxing tournaments, for the past many years, as our small contribution to the development of the sport and, perhaps, in the country’s quest for the first Olympic gold medal which could very well, come from amateur boxing.” said Edgardo “Boy” Cantada of the Joe Cantada Sports.

“We firmly believe that our Olympic gold medalist is somewhere out there, just waiting to be discovered and tapped for the mission,” he added.

Cantada said topnotch boxing will be provided by raw but talented simonpures from the stables of Mandaue City of Tony Aldeguer, Misamis Oriental of Gov. Oscar Moreno, Puerto Princesa of Mayor Edward Hagedorn, Bacolod City of Munjo Guanzon, Tagbilaran City of Mayor Dan Neri Lim, Southern Tagalog of Boogie Apostadero and Taguig (Metro Manila).
