ASAP tankers compete in Singapore invitational
MANILA, Philippines - The Aquatic Swimming Association of the Philippines is sending 19 age groupers to compete in the fifth Singapore Island Country Club Invitational meet set Aug. 8-9.
ASAP secretary general Susan Papa, assisted by Susan Benasa, Manny Thruelen and Rem Ortega, heads the coaching staff for the meet, the first international competition participated in by the newly formed ASAP.
The ASAP, headed by lawyer Ma. Luz Arzaga-Mendoza, is a nationwide swimming organization with regional representation all over the country. Vice president is Jane Ong. ASAP is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The age-group swimmers are Jay Ortega, Sean Ortega, Randrey dela Cruz, Jean Cruz, Jaymar Ibong, Clarissa Pacalda, Paul Ann Cayanan, Jaymee Ortega, Andrea Manapat, Bianca Quinones, Ma. Celine Santos, Jansen Martin, Ashley Mamangon, Loren Dale Echaves, Miguel Thruelen, Val Lorenzo Pilapil, Stephen Pilapil, Camille Thruelen and Gertrude Pilapil.
The team leaves Wednesday.
