Red Lions test Generals today
MANILA, Philippines - San Beda faces Emilio Aguinaldo today, looking for another win against a team coming off back-to-back victories in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lions will try to stretch their win streak to five and sixth overall against a loss and stay within striking distance of joint unbeaten leaders San Sebastian and Jose Rizal U as they take on the Generals at 4 p.m.
EAC is expected to come out strong against the fancied San Beda side with the Generals hoping to ride on the momentum of their two straight wins after dropping their first four games.
“It was one of our toughest games,” said Lim.
Meanwhile, Arellano U gets to show its wares again after an 11-day rest as it clashes with St. Benilde at 2 p.m.
The Chiefs started the season with two straight wins but dropped their next three while the Blazers dropped to No. 5 after absorbing a 73-78 setback to the Generals Monday.
“We’re well-rested, we hope to really come out strong,” said Arellano U coach Junjie Ablan.
Lim said they could not afford to be complacent against EAC.
“We can’t take EAC for granted, we can’t take any team for granted,” said LimAmerican Sudan Daniel is tipped to lead San Beda again after turning in 18 points, seven rebounds and four blocks the last time out while EAC is expected to lean on John Santos, who normed 20 points in the last two games.
