Tropang Growee holds 3-on-3
MANILA, Philippines - Multi-Vitamins Growee will hold its first ever Tropang Growee Pinoy Kids national 3-on-3, 12-and-under tournament in six key cities starting in Baguio City Aug. 15 and 16.
Daren Evangelista, Growee’s national coordinator for sports, announced the staging of the event, which is expected to draw 1,500 young athletes from Baguio, Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Davao.
“This is the first time Tropang Growee will hold its 3-on-3 tournament on a national level. We’re very excited to do this event, and hopefully we can discover new talents,” Evangelista said during the PSA Forum at the Shakey’s UN Ave. in Manila Tuesday.
“Our objective is to have a grassroots development and wellness through sports. We hope to continue this event to help develop the skills of our young athletes,” he added in the session sponsored by Pagcor, Outlast Battery, Accel and Shakey’s.
Evangelista said Growee is targeting 60 teams per city.

After the Baguio-leg, the Tropang Growee tournament Manila-leg will be held on Sept. 5 and 6, Iloilo on Sept. 12 and 13, Metro Cebu on Sept. 19 and 20, Cagayan de Oro on Sept. 26 and 27 and Davao on Oct. 3 and 4.
The National Finals will also be held in Davao, where the champion team will receive one year supply of Growee and trophy. The national finalists will have an all-expense paid trip courtesy of Growee.
The 60 teams in every city will be grouped into four, and each group will have 15 teams to be divided into five. The winners will move to another single round robin. The winner will be the group champion. The four group champions will advance in the crossover Final Four. Winners will face-off in the knockout Finals.
Aside from basketball, Growee is also involved in volleyball, taekwondo, swimming, chess, badminton, karatedo as well as beach games including athletics, sepak takraw, football, beach volley, freesbee and shoreline swimming.
Growee is also planning to have a junior golf tournament next year.
