Milo elims up in two cities

MANILA, Philippines - The cities of Santiago and Butuan will simultaneously host the 33rd National Milo Marathon elimination races this Sunday held in partnership with Bayview Park Manila and the Department of Tourism.

A total of 5,000 runners are competing in Santiago organized by Tess Bernardino and 6,000 participants taking part in Butuan jointly organized by Leonardo Yu, local distributor of Nestle and Ben Dacera. The race has four different age categories – 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K.

The men and women champions in the 21K will bring home P10,000 each plus a trip ticket to the finals in October in Manila.

Santiago Mayor Amelita Navarro will flag off the runners assisted by Milo Sports Events Lester Castillo and other local officials.

In Butuan City, Congressman Jose “Joeboy” Aquino will fire off the 21K runners at 5:30 a.m. while Gen. Jaime Milla, Vice Mayor Dino Sanchez, and Councilor Randulf Plaza will do the honors for the 10K, 5K, and 3K runners, respectively, at 6 a.m.
