Canlas claims 14-U net crown

MANILA, Philippines – Headplayer Calvin “Ino” Canlas of Ateneo High School defeated Han Asistio, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, to pocket the boys’ 14-U title in the second Guillermo Jose Sr. Memorial Cup, June 12-14 and 20-21 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Canlas, one of the National 14-Under mainstay to the recent World Junior Tennis Competition in Kuching, Malaysia last May outplayed Kyle Parpan, 6-1, 6-2, in the semis to forge a titular match with Asistio.
