Castrol 'Power1 Mechanic' tilt holds 2nd leg
MANILA, Philippines - After the successful June 2 kick off, the “Castrol Power 1 Mechanic Contest” is gearing up for the second leg set on June 30.
The Castrol Power1 Mechanic Contest is intended to gather the best motorcycle mechanics in the Philippines and give them a venue to showcase their skills in an enjoyable and exciting experience.
One of the fun matches in the contest is a practical test on a motorcycle where the participants are challenged to troubleshoot a deliberately created mechanical problem and solve it in the fastest possible time.
Castrol believes that mechanics are key stakeholders in the lubricant sector and strengthen the relationship between the technicians and the brand.
BP Philippines Inc. country sales director Mars Sota Jr. said the “Castrol Power1 Mechanic Contest” offers Castrol an opportunity to recognize the homegrown skills and talents of Pinoy mechanics who are also the brand’s key customers.
“They (mechanics) are the first ones who interact with the riders and share their knowledge about lubricants. As far as customer relationship is concerned, they have become our most valuable ambassadors in the shops–especially for Power1 4T oils,” Sota said, noting that the technology of Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T ensures maximum performance from the engine, with improved acceleration even in the most extreme conditions.
The winner of the Philippine Castrol Power 1 Mechanic Contest Grand Finals on Aug. 23 will be sent to Bangkok, Thailand in October and will compete for the “Asia Pacific Castrol Power 1 Mechanic Contest” and a chance to meet and greet top rider Toni Elias of the San Carlo Honda Gresini team and his team of topnotch mechanics and race engineers.
Winners from Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines will also be flying to Sepang, Malaysia, in an all-expenses paid holiday, to watch and have a first-hand experience of the MotoGP. Castrol and the San Carlo Honda Gresini Team have taken a leading role in the MotoGP World Championship.
Application forms are available at Castrol motorcycle dealers or may call PMPI at 729-6391 for inquiries.
