RP bets vie in Vitwater triathlon

-

MANILA, Philippines – Several members of the national team and other prominent personalities are seeing action in the second staging of the Vitwater Animo Sprint Triathlon this Sunday inside the plush Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa.

Former RP team standout George Vilog, Sen. Pia Cayetano, former basketball superstar BJ Manalo and top businessman Fernando Zobel de Ayala are among the close to 300 participants taking part in the fund-raising event for the benefit of the Jaime Hilario Scholarship Fund.

The beneficiaries will be the indigent kids in Bagac, Bataan where the Jaime Hilario Integrated School is located and run by De La Salle.

Hilario is the first La Salle brother to be canonized as saint.

“This is our way of giving back to our school, while at the same time, helping those who are less privileged in life,” said RFM Corp. general manager Greg Banzon Tuesday in the PSA Forum.

The RFM official added that they hope to surpass the P150,000 fund the event was able to raise during the inaugural staging of the tournament last year.

The La Salle Greenhills Batch 81 is spearheading this year’s hosting.

Triathlon coach Rick Reyes also appeared in the same forum sponsored by Shakey’s, Accel, the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) and Outlast Battery.
