Amit, Pagulayan head field in Scotch doubles

MANILA, Philippines – The country’s top billiards stables will field its best pair of players to vie for top honors in the JBETpoker.net Scotch Doubles All-Star Challenge June 25-26 at the North Edsa in Quezon City.

The event will serve as the undercard of The Challenge of the Legend: The Maestro vs the Volcano a one-on-one rotation match between pool icon Efren “Bata” Reyes and fellow former double world champion Ronnie Alcano.

Puyat Sports, Bugsy Promotions and Negros Billiards Stable (NBS) are the three premier pool stables fielding in top Filipino players in the event.

Puyat Sports has enlisted 2004 world 9-ball champion Alex Pagulayan and newly crowned JBETpoker.net Women’s 10-Ball champion Rubilen Amit to banner its team in this event presented by JBETpoker.net and Bugsy Promotions headed by Perry Mariano.

Former world No.1 Dennis Orcollo and Asian Games gold medalist Gandy Valle will banner the Bugsy Promotions side, while NBS will be led by former Southeast Asian Games multi-gold medalists Warren Kiamco and Lee Van Corteza.

Three other tandems will complete the six-team cast in the tournament sanctioned by the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines and the Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines and supported by Sen. Manny Villar’s Villards: Tulong sa Pagsulong ng Philippine Sports and sponsored by Camella Communities.
