Bolo Cup attracts world ace shooters

-

MANILA, Philippines - Top shooters from around the world are competing in the three-day ninth Demetrio “Bolo” Tuason Cup NCR Area Championships slated June 26-28 at the Armscor Shooting Ranges.

Heading the cast in the three-day shootfest are Hong Kong, Hawaii, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and the US, whose half of its team members are mostly Filipinos, including KC Eusebio.

Veterans Jethro Dionisio and Jag Lejano banner the Philippine side in the event held in honor of Demetrio Tuason, chairman and president of Arms Corp. of the Phils.

“Bolo” is the older brother of the late Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman and former shooting association president Carlos “Butch” Tuason.

Tournament chairperson and Armscor SVP Gina Marie Angangco along with shooter and match director Bob Sajot appeared in yesterday’s PSA Forum at the Shakey’s UN Avenue branch to discuss the shooting tournament.

Angangco said competitions will be held among ladies, senior, junior, and even media and celebrities.

Prizes will come mostly in raffle forms courtesy of Armscor, she said.

Sajot also said in the same session sponsored by Shakey’s, Accel, the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) and Outlast Battery, that the meet serves as a perfect venue for Filipino shooters to gear up for the World Shooting Championship two years from now in Greece.

He stressed local practical shooters are the best in the Southeast Asian region today, and even have a chance to be the top in Asia as gleamed by the 40 medals they won during the last World Championship – the most by any Asian countries.
