MANILA, Philippines – Rizal Technological University of Mandaluyong City and defending champion Air Force-Pasay picked up their fourth straight victories and were poised to dominate their respective groups in the men’s division of the Cebuana Lhuiller National Open softball championships at the Rosario Sports Complex in Pasig City.
The RTU Blue Thunders claimed an abbreviated, three-inning victory over Floridablanca of Pampanga, 12-1, to remain at the top of the standing in Group A with a 4-0 win-loss card.
The Airmen though had an easier time, walking over another Pampanga squad representing Guagua town, which for an unexplained reason did not show up in the scheduled match. Guagua also won by default over Taguig City.
El Caviteno remained the only unbeaten team in Group B of the men’s division play after it blasted the Richard Gomez-reinforced Cebu Dolphins, 5-l.
Over at the Sto. Nino field in the event backed by Pera Padala, Phiten, Le Soleil de Boracay,Just Jewels and Mizuno, the Ateneo-Air Force combine ended Adamson-Cavite’s winning run with 4-0 rout for its third win.
