MANILA, Philippines – Racing experts still pick Loraine Uy Wi’s Don Enrico, who ruled Emerald-I in a wire-to-wire fashion, to have slight edge over the three other contenders for the crown – Tony De Ubago’s Chariot of Fire, Putch Puyat’s Earl Gray and Jake Maderazo’s Mr. Victory – when Emerald-II, a four-horse affair, fires off today at the San Lazaro Leisure and Business Park (SLLBP) in Carmona, Cavite.
The Philracoom-sponsored stakes race offers P300,000 to the winner plus trophies for the owner, trainer and jockey. The second finisher gets P112,500 while the third and fourth placers will take home P62,500 and P25,000, respectively. The breeder of the winning horse gets P15,000.
“The Commission is honored to sponsor this event for our special class division horses at the San Lazaro Leisure and Business Park in Carmona, Cavite,” said Philracom chair Jose Ferdinand Rojas II.
“I would like to invite the “bayang karerista” to watch today’s racing spectacle. I’m sure this will be a great racing day for all of us. I wish to thank Philracom for sponsoring this event,” said MJC chairman and CEO Alfonso R. Reyno Jr.
