GDAP supports golf training of 150 kids

-

MANILA, Philippines – The Golf Distributors Association of the Philippines is supporting the basic golf training of 150 kids who have pre-registered for the program in line with its thrust to promote golf to potential junior golfers.

“We want more kids to develop interest in golf and eventually be committed to pursue training,” says project chairman Glenn Baroma.

The first session of the program will be held today, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Urban Golf, an indoor golf lounge in Jupiter Street, Makati City that has the most accurate and realistic simulators in the world. The venue will allow kids to experience playing golf and hit balls for the first time as if they were already in the fairway.

Participants will hit their first balls using junior sets from GDAP members such as Callaway and TopFlite, Mizuno, Perrygear, Ping, Powerbilt and Tour Edge Golf.

Since it will be the kids’ first encounter on the game, the training will be a part of big golf party complete with party elements, from loot bags with interesting items including a beginner’s golf book, games, prizes and meals. Everything comes courtesy of event supporters Nestle, McDonald’s, Krispy Kreme, Jack ‘n Jill Wafrets, Refresh Juicy Jelly, Mr. Chips and Unilever.

At the end of the first session, kids who exhibit the greatest potential to excel in the game will advance to the next level to get a chance to complete the training program.

Media partners are Junior Inquirer, Manila Bulletin’s FunPage, BusinessWorld, Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9, 99.5 RT and Max 103.5.
