Jr TnT, Alaska in semis
MANILA, Philippines - The Talk ‘n Text QC and Alaska teams of Mayor Sonny Belmonte and head coach Mark Herrera both swept their assignments and advanced to the semis of the junior PBA summer tournament.
The back-to-back champions Talk ‘n Text QC team won over Pasay, Caloocan and San Juan and is hoping for a grand slam this season.
“We are hoping that we will achieve the grand slam this year. The boys have been working hard for this. They have matured in their playing skills from the first year I have handled them,” said Herrera, also the head coach for the RP Youth U-13 team.
In Friday’s game, Pawandeep Singh poured 10 of his game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter to help Batang Burger King-Caloocan beat an inspired Batang Rain or Shine-San Juan, 47-41.
