Ayala Alabang hosts triathlon for age groupers

MANILA, Philippines – Local triathletes take to the pool and road again on June 14 when the annual Animo Sprint Triathlon ’09 takes place at the Narra Park inside the Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa.

Buoyed by the success of last year’s inaugural staging that raised funds for the benefit of the St. Jaime Hilario Scholarship Funds, the organizing La Salle Cares, spearheaded by the LSGH Class ’81, and the Sunkist Tri Hard, are inviting both competitive and recreational athletes, young and old alike, to join the fund-raising aquathlon and triathlon races.

Events on tap under the Triathlon Association of the Philippines’s (TRAP) SuperTriKids developmental program are age group aquathlon and triathlon races for kids. At stake are medals and product giveaways from sponsors Vitwater, Sunkist, Hershey’s and the Belo Medical Group, at stake.

Other races are the mini sprint 350m.swim-11K bike-3.4K run triathlon, the 950m swim-30K bike-6.5K run sprint triathlon which features a special La Salle Division and a team competition.
