MANILA, Philippines – Christine Patrimonio fashioned out a 6-3, 6-0 win over Bambi Zoleta to capture the ladies singles title in the second Alcala Open Tennis tournament at the Lucena City tennis courts in Lucena last Sunday.
Patrimonio, who gained a crack at the crown with a 6-4, 6-1 rout of Aileen Rogan in the semis, dished out top form in the finals, dropping only three games to dethrone the last year’s winner.
Patrick John Tierro also cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 win over Elbert Anasta to capture the men’s crown.
Zoleta later teamed up with Jessica Agra to foil Bien Zoleta and Michelle Pang, 6-1, 2-6, (10-4), to bag the women’s doubles plum.
The event, held under the auspices of Philta, was put up by Fiscal Sandy Maranan, president of the Lucena City Tennis Club, in honor of founder Gov. Anacleto Alcala.
