Brand-new SUV staked for Forest Hills ace

-

ANTIPOLO, Philippines – A full field of 150 teams made up of members and their guests gets its chance of shooting for a brand-new SUV in the eighth Forest Hills Invitational presented by Hyundai and Golforce at the rolling, well-manicured layout here.

Teams will play the first round using the aggregate Stableford method of scoring before they play the second using the four-ball Stableford format in the event, which rewards an ace with a Hyundai Tucson, among others.

Golf carts from Yamaha, Club Car and Texas Eagle and P100,000 in cash from Taishan Insurance are also being dangled for aces on designated holes with the awarding, which will be held Sunday, to give away a Hyundai i10 to a lucky winner in the raffle.

“Our Invitational has grown so much that it has become one of the most keenly-awaited events of the year,” said Forest Hills general manager, lawyer Romy Carlos. “That is why we at Forest Hills would want to make each and every edition special and memorable to the participants as possible.”

The Nicklaus course has been spruced up to absolute championship condition, with the roughs thickened, the fairways manicured and the greens trimmed to perfection.

The Tucson will be staked in the 13th hole, a relatively easy 160-yard, downhill gem that would require most in the field to just have a middle iron in hand.

Rafael Garcia and Jaime Fernandez seek to repeat as overall champions in the event also presented by MCC Steel Corporation, Pagcor and Sun Cellular, with the team of Alvin Buenaventura and Jonar Austria gunning to win the Division I title for the second straight year.
