MANILA, Philippines – The fourth Jack Nicklaus International Invitational golf tournament is expected to draw a banner field when it is staged June 15 at the Sherwood Hills Golf and Country Club in Trece Martires, Cavite.
At stake in the two-man team event is a berth in the Jack Nicklaus tournament of champions in the US where the Filipino winners will join the other qualifiers from countries such as South Africa, Mexico, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, Canada, Indonesia and China.
The Philippines has posted impressive finishes in the event, including a championship in 2007, courtesy of Joel Ignacio and Omar Dungca.
Manfred Guanko and Wilfred Batara placed third in the 2006 edition of the event while Beachie Abiera and Martin Ilagan placed fourth last year.
