Fil-Am's buzzer beater lifts Licealiz vs Pharex

MANILA, Philippines - Fil-Am Lance Convento hit an open jumper in the dying seconds as Licealiz nipped Pharex, 91-89, in overtime to wrest solo third place in the 2009 PBL PG Flex Unity Cup at the San Juan gym yesterday.

Convento’s heroics came after Pharex’s Chris Ross buried a triple that tied the count at 89 with 10 seconds left in the extra period as he was left open after the Bidang Generix double-teamed Jervy Cruz, anticipating Licealiz’s last offensive play will be carried out by the former UAAP MVP.
