MANILA, Philippines - Oracle appears on track of upholding the winning tradition of its sister team Harbour Centre as it tries to extend its win streak to three against Pharex today in the PBL PG Flex Unity Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig.
The Residences and the Bidang Generix slug it out in the 2 p.m. opener while the Licealiz Hair Doctors shoot for their second straight win after an opening-day loss as they take on the Cobra Energy Warriors at 4 p.m.
Guard Marc Barroca, who had an impressive showing in the first two games of the Residences, hopes to sustain his form in his last game before leaving with the RP developmental pool for the US tomorrow.
Barroca led Oracle by scoring seven points in the fourth quarter to help stop the Energy Warriors’ rally and post a 76-68 win.
Barroca along with teammates Mac Baracael and Aldrech Ramos and the rest of the RP team will not be seeing action until the start of the semis round of the season-ending tournament.
But the Bidang Generix, who dropped their opening-day game to the Magnolia Wizards, will go all out to stop the Residences and get into the winning mode behind Alfred Gerilla, Ronnie Matias and Chris Ross, who combined for 52 points the last time out.
Meanwhile, Licealiz tries to score a follow-up to its tough 94-90 overtime win over Magnolia last Thursday as it battles the winless Energy Warriors, who bowed to the Residences last Thursday.
