Esposo, Balatbat rule Chancellor's netfest

Six-time national champion Julius Esposo and Sendrina Balatbat prevailed in the 11th Donic-Star Sports UP Chancellor’s Cup National Invitational table tennis tournament over the weekend at the Star Mall Alabang in Muntinlupa City.

Esposo captured the titles of men’s singles open, men’s doubles and mixed doubles of the five-day tournament supported by GTC Sports, Star Mall, Alabang, Diliman Prep School, R. Lapids, Botak, Samurai and Pocari sweat.

Esposo teamed up with Celjun Ortalla to beat Isaias Seronio and Leo De Leon, 3-1, to win the men’s double crown. He played alongside with Cassandra Bazar to outplay Chrisma Capistrano and Celjun Ortalla, 3-0, to get the mixed doubles trophy.   

Balatbat of Metropolitan Table Tennis Association (METTA), a former national player, whipped fellow Ayra Malabayabas, 3-0, to gain the women’s open crown of the event organized by UP professor Oscar Santelices.
