Ready2Race ready to take all comers anew

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Ready2Race team hopes to stage a big comeback as the 2009 Magnolia Super Karting Series resumes with its second leg today at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Von Medrano and Hongkong-based Matthew Solomon gun for their second straight wins in separate classes as they try to power up the Ready2Race team supported by Tuason Racing School, Tonykart, OTK parts, Ford-Batangas, Citi bank Savings, Golden Harvest, Oakley, Banpu, HJC helmets, SmithBell, Sparco, FARM and AIM racing gauges.

Both Medrano and Solomon rose to the occasion after the lackluster performance of its ace drivers Juha Turalba and Roby Benito in the kickoff race last month.

Medrano ruled the Formula SL Heavy class over comebacking AV Rubio while Solomon steered the team to a 1-2-3 finish in the ROK Novice class together with runner-up Jennifer Tumambing and third placer Brian del Val.

Benito and Turalba put up a good show finishing second and fourth, respectively, in the pre-final race but problems haunted them in the finals where they only wound up seventh and eighth.

Another R2R top bet Joey Orduna is also looking forward to a much better show in the ROK Junior after ending third in the season kickoff.

The other R2R Karters gunning for a better show in their respective divisions are Korean guest driver Daniel Park who took fourth place in the Formula SL Novice class, Mini-ROK runner-up Basti Escalante, and Baby ROK karters Aira Medrano and Joseph Tumambing.

“The team prepared much better this time and we’re hoping to get back on a winning streak,” said R2R president Chito Benito.
