World Games veterans grace charity bowling
MANILA, Philippines - Members of the Special Athletes Bowling Association and Special Olympics Philippines Inc. showcased their talent and skills in the “Bowling for a Cause,” a fund-raising event for the Foundation for Children’s Educational Integration Inc. (Teacher Mom) at the SM Mall of Asia Bowling Center recently.
World and Regional Games veterans Anton Silos, Roxanne Ng, Mark Inductivo, Jonny Zulueta, Bryan Robles, Brian Galang, Larry Cruz and Carlos Alcantara head the roster of players who saw action in the event, sponsored by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Creative Response and Go Nuts Donuts.
The Foundation (Teacher Mom) is an educational institution devoted to the training, rehabilitation and development of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities such as Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other similar afflictions.
It has been in operation since 1981 and has trained its students in sports particularly bowling and bocce, music, arts and livelihood activities.
FCEII-Teacher Mom students has also held several art exhibits at Kulay Diwa, Hotel Intercon, Dusit Hotel Nikko and Ayala Mall. Some of the works had been displayed at the Chiba City Art Museum in Japan and in the Blanchardstown Center and Library in Dublin, Ireland during the 2003 World Special Olympics.
