MANILA, Philippines – Two 2009 Lexus IS300 luxury sedans will be staked as hole-in-one prizes in the Sta. Elena Cup set March 25-29 at the Sta. Elena Golf and Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Lexus, the newest entry in the Philippine luxury car market, joins the prestigious tournament as major sponsor.
Bryan Cockrell, Sta. Elena club president, promises that this 13th edition of the tournament will be “more exciting than ever.”
“We are grateful that a prestigious brand like Lexus has chosen to partner with one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the country,” he said.
This year’s Cup will have 270 pairs playing the 6,600-yard Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed course, with each pair consisting of one member and a guest. Players will be divided into three divisions. Last year’s Cup was won by the team of Bones Floro and King Stehmeier.
Alfred Ty, Lexus Manila chair, said that “Lexus and Sta. Elena represent the same standards in the pursuit of excellence. We look forward to building a lasting relationship with Sta. Elena and its members.”
The Sta. Elena Cup kicks off with pre-event cocktails next Sunday.
Lexus Manila, which entered the Philippine market last January, is marking a significant presence in the country, with prestigious sponsorships like the Sta. Elena Cup and the recently concluded 2009 President’s Cup Regatta.
Lexus has been named the best selling luxury car brand in the US for the last eight years.
