Condura advocacy run slated

MANILA, Philippines - The Condura Run for the Whale Sharks, an advocacy event by the Concepcion family led by Concepcion Durables president Ton Concepcion, is set March 22 at the Bonifacio Global open grounds in Taguig.

Registration is up until March 16 for the event featuring four races – the 21km half-marathon, 10km challenge, 5km discovery run and 3km fun run.

Certificates and cash prizes await the top three male and female finishers in each race category.

The organizers said the Condura Run is a running event created by a runner for runners and is inspired by international marathons.

It is held to help save marine environment and promote eco-tourism by making people aware of the richness that lie beneath the seas.

The first Condura Run was staged in 2008 with the event able to raise some money for the protection of the Tubbataha Reefs in Palawan.

This year, it will be staged for the benefit of the whale sharks of Donsol, Sorsogon.
