59 squads clash in Futures 3-on-3 caging

MANILA, Philippines - Fifty-nine teams slug it out in the 2009 Primovit-Futures 3-on-3 Baller Battle on Saturday at the Ateneo de Manila High School covered courts.

Defending girls division junior champion Adamson and last year’s boys mini division winner Ateneo head the field with the latter also eyeing the boys’ junior crown in the absence of defending champion La Salle Greenhills.

Keen competition is seen in the boys midgets division with 10 teams clashing for the crown while the boys junior division drew 27 teams. Eight teams are entered in the mini division while Adamson leads the 14-team cast in the girls’ class.

The tournament is presented by Primovit Multivitamin and sponsored by Gatorade Thirst Quencher, Accord Capital Inc., Purefoods TJ Hotdogs, JR & R Distribution Inc., and Philip’s Peripherals & Accessories.

Other schools in the fold are UST, College of the Holy Spirit, RTU, St. Vincent School, Community of Learners Foundation, San Juan de Letran, Faith Christian School, School of St. Anthony, FEU, Casa del Nino Montessori from far-away Isabela, Diliman Preparatory School, College of San Agustin, St. Scholastica’s Manila, st. Scholastica’s Westgrove, Southville International School, St. Theresa’s College, Immaculate Heart of mary College, Lourdes School-Mandaluyong, Xavier School, Marist School, and Beacon International School.

Winners of the tournament, supported by Cool Choice Juice Drink, Captain Bawang, and Del Monte Veggie & Fruit Drink, will receive cash prizes and product give-aways, for further information, contact persons are tournament director Tyrone Limon at 0928 5050747 and Glen de Leon, team coordinator at 0916 6241787.
