Pagunsan, Que finish joint 22nd
MANILA, Philippines - Juvic Pagunsan rallied with a two-under par 70 and finished in joint 22nd with compatriot Angelo Que in the Indonesian Open topped by Thai ace Thongchai Jaidee yesterday.
Pagunsan, in joint 31st at the start of the round, opened with back-to-back birdies but had a roller-coaster game the rest of the way, finishing with two more birdies against two bogeys for a 34-36 card.
He wound up with a four-under 284 in a tie with Que and eight others.
Que, impressive with a league-leading, bogey- free 64 in the first round, closed out with a 71.
Frankie Miñoza struggled with a 73 and placed in joint 32nd with a 286.
Jaidee went on a rampage early, scoring three straight birdies from No. 3 then held off his rivals to fire a 69 and beat England’s Simon Dyson by two with a 72-hole haul of 12-under 276.
Dyson also made a 69 and rallied from eighth to joint second with Swede Alexander Noren, carding a 70, at 278.
