MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top youth shooters show their wares anew starting today as they compete in the second Mayor Freddie Tiñga Cup-NYDP tournament at the PNSA/Philippine Marines range in Taguig City.
Mark Lorenz Manosca, the No. 1 air pistol shooter, leads the Taguig squad of Mayor Tiñga. Other participants will carry the colors of Tagaytay City, Malabon, Makati, Quezon City, Ateneo de Manila University and the Philippine Marines.
This is the second youth competition this year in the 10-meter air rifle and air pistol events featuring shooters 18 years old and below.
NYDP kicked off its 2009 program by staging its anniversary tournament last month.
“Mayor (Freddie) Tiñga has been elated by the performance not only of his wards but by other outstanding shooters as well,” said National Pistol champion Nathaniel “Tac” Padilla, NYDP (National Youth Development Program) chair and PNSA vice president.
