De la Salle-Lipa goes big in Toby's volleyball

MANILA, Philippines - De la Salle Lipa stayed unbeaten in the girls’ division and kept second spot in the boys’ section over the weekend in the Toby’s Junior Volleyball League.

The DLS-Lipa spikers routed Hope Christian, 25-10, 25-9, and downed Miriam College, 25-13, 25-14, for the twin triumphs that gave them a 4-0 slate in the girls section of the tournament backed by Shakey’s, Petron Treats and Dunkin’ Donuts.

Not to be outdone, the DLSL male spikers also struck twice, first beating Colegio San Agustin, 25-14, 25-9, and then downing Lourdes School of QC, 25-8, 25-11, for a 3-1 slate in the boys’ section.

Similarly going undefeated going into the final week of eliminations was Claret School of QC, which blasted Holy Trinity Academy, 25-4, 25-8, for a 3-0 card in Bracket B of the boys’ division.

In other matches, MGC New Life Academy outlasted San Beda Alabang, 22-25, 27-25, 25-9, in the girls’ division (Bracket B); Lourdes Mandaluyong won over Holy Trinity, 25-9, 25-10, and San Beda Alabang whipped Woodrose Alabang, 25-10, 17-25, 25-19.

Tomorrow, St. Jude Catholic School goes up against Miriam College at 8 a.m.; Concepcion Elementary School meets Holy Trinity Academy at 9 a.m.; Claret School plays Xavier School at 10 a.m; La Salle Zobel plays Colegio San Agustin at 11 and Lucas Pascual ES opposes Dela Salle Lipa at 12 noon.

Concepcion meets Xavier School at 8:30 a.m, Poveda clashes with Woodrose at 9:30 a.m. and Concepcion plays Lourdes School Mandaluyong at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
