Colegio San Agustin unbeaten in Toby's Volleyball
Colegio San Agustin beat St. Pedro Poveda and MGC New Life Academy over the weekend to underscore its billing as the team to beat in the Girls division of the Toby’s Sports Junior Volleyball League at the Colegio de San Lorenzo Sports Complex in Quezon City.
The CSA spikers downed St. Pedro Poveda, 25-18, 25-18, before beating MGC, 24-26, 25-13, 25-12, as they kept their unbeaten slate in the meet backed by Shakey’s, Petron Treats and Dunkin’ Donuts.
Reigning boys’ division titlist Maximo Estrella Elementary School outlasted De La Salle-Lipa in a tighly-fought match, 25-27,25-21, 25-23, Sunday.
Combining for 22 points, Geremy Galarosa, Epifanio Maas and Denver Cruz struck hardest in the second and third sets to lead the MEES spikers past DLS-Lipa.
In the other boys division matches, University of Perpetual Help Molino downed Lourdes School QC, 25-19, 25-18 Saturday but lost to De La Salle Lipa, 5-25, 13-25, the next day. Other girls’ division games saw University of Perpetual Help defeat Hope Christian School, 25-14, 25-15, and St. Jude Catholic School, 25-11, 25-4, and MGC New Life Academy beat De La Salle Zobel in three sets, 21-25, 25-13, 25-21.
