WWWExpress Amateur golf listup ends today
Registration for the WWWExpress-DHL National Amateur Golf Championships ends today with more entries from both the men’s and ladies divisions expected to join the tournament unfolding Feb. 10 at the north course of the Canlubang golf complex in Laguna.
The event has so far drawn the country’s top players in the ranks, including reigning national champion Ferdie Aunzo and former RP amateur winner Anthony Fernando, and Chihiro Ikeda, the defending champion in the ladies side.
Fees are pegged at P2,500 for men and P2,000 for women.
Others seeing action in the tournament, sponsored by WWWExpress and DHL, are club bets Jhonnel Ababa, Mark Fernando and Jessie Balasabas, who are expected to slug it out for top honors with the mainstays of the ICTSI golf stable, including Rufino Bayron and Antonio Asistio.

Louise Manalo is also in the fold, looking for her second major victory after annexing the Philippine Ladies Open crown at Southwoods last month, along with reigning back-to-back national champion Anya Tanpinco and Regina de Guzman.
Spicing up the four-day event, put up by WWWExpress chair Rod Feliciano to provide the local and international players a venue where they could hone their talent and skills, is the staging of the team championship among Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines with fabulous prizes up for grabs in the three-to-play, two-to-count format tournament. — end it//thanks
