UAAP: UST lady booters gain 2nd

University of Santo Tomas barged to second win in three games Wednesday after trouncing University of the Philippines, 2-0, in the 71st UAAP women’s football events at the Ocampo field inside the Ateneo campus.

The Tigresses banked on the goals of skipper Jowe-Ann Barruga and Marianne Narciso in the 36th and 41st minute mark, respectively, in the first half before keeping the Lady Maroons scoreless in the remaining minutes of the game with a solid defense.

In the other women’s game over at the Erenchun field, De La Salle University and reigning champion Far Eastern University played to a 0-0 draw.

UST now has earned a 2-1-0 win-loss-draw record to stay at second place behind league-leading De La Salle (3-0-1), while Far Eastern dropped to third with 1-0-2 .
