Estrella Elementary School rips De La Salle-Lipa

Defending boys’ division champion Maximo Estrella Elementary School survived the challenge of De La Salle-Lipa in a tightly-fought match that highlighted weekend action in the Toby’s Junior Volleyball League at the Colegio de San Lorenzo Sports Complex in Quezon City.

Jeremy Galarosa, Epifanio Maas and Denver Cruz combined for 22 points, striking hardest in the second and third sets to lead the MEES spikers past DLS-Lipa, 25-27, 25-21, 25-23, in the meet backed by Shakey’s Petron Treats and Dunkin’ Donuts.

In the other boys division matches, University of Perpetual Help Molino downed Lourdes School QC, 25-19, 25-18, on Saturday but lost to De La Salle Lipa, 5-25, 13-25, the next day

Colegio San Agustin kept its unbeaten slate, downing St. Pedro Poveda, 25-18, 25-18, and MGC New Life Academy, 24-26, 25-13, 25-12, to underscore its billing as the team to beat in the girls section.

Other girls’ division games saw University of Perpetual Help defeat Hope Christian School, 25-14, 25-15 and St. Jude Catholic School, 25-11, 25-4, and MGC New Life Academy beat De La Salle Zobel in three sets, 21-25, 25-13, 25-21.
