Xavier posts fourth straight win

-

Defending champion Xavier School survived a big scare from Grace Christian College before notching its fourth straight win while Hope Christian High School finally ended a 22-game losing streak in the 39th Yakult Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association (MMTBA) Championship.

In a fitting follow-up to his 55-point performance against long-time rival Chiang Kai Shek last Wednesday, former RP Youth member Jeric Teng tallied 44 points to help power Xavier to a 91-87 victory over Grace Christian College over the weekend at the Xavier School.

Handled by Senen Duenas of Harbour Centre, Grace Christian College started aggressively, controlling the tempo of the game in the first half before Teng, Bryan Tan and Ian Umali caught fire in the third quarter to seize the lead.
