Tan tops Mighty Founders golfest

-

Henson Tan of Xavier School scored a net one-under-par 71 to emerge overall champion in the first-ever Mighty Sports Founders Cup golf tournament at the Tagaytay Midlands recently.

Tan used a near-impeccable short game to outlast Fritz Dy in a thrilling showdown to win the inaugural event organized by Mighty Sports Association headed by Dr. John Sy.

Dy went on to capture the Class A crown with a 73.

Pat Aquino, coach of Ever Bilena in the Women’s PBL, shot an 82 to edge Frank Parulan for Class B honors.

Five-year-old Keiht Wongchuking was the youngest participant in the event graced by Belle chairman and Tagaytay Highlands founder Willie Ocier, who also made the ceremonial tee-off.

Special Awards went to Terence Tang (longest drive-288 yards) and Eddie Santiago of Manila Golf (nearest to the pin).
