Cebuana Lhuillier guns for slopitch title

Cebuana Lhuillier is tagged the heavy favorite to snatch the Super Division championship of the Manila Slopitch Softball league which will be decided in a four-game bill today among the Cebuanos, defending champion Pera Padala, Meralco and surprise entry PLIA-RTU combine.

The boys of Amateur Softball Association-Philippines president Jean Henri Lhuillier first battle sister team Pera Padala at the main dish of the day’s page-system semifinals at 10 a.m. to secure an outright place in the title playoff at the Rosario softball field in Pasig City.

Boosting the confidence of the Cebuana batters is their sweep of the recent 16th Bangkok International Slopitch Softball Championship.

PLIA-RTU tries to eliminate each other at the upper half of the page system at 8:30 with the winner taking on the loser of the Cebuana-Pera Padala tussle with the second finals seat at stake.

The championship in the four-month series that started last Sept. 14 is set at 1 p.m.
