Baguio Centennial paces Fil-Am golf

BAGUIO - The Baguio Centennial I team pooled 91 points to take a two-point lead over Baguio Country Club in the Am division Flight B of the 59th Fil-Am Men’s Golf Invitational here yesterday.

Korean Washington Kim turned in 36 points under the Stableford scoring format at the Baguio Country Club course while Bayani Tecson had 25 and Paul Quitiqit and Herr Bautista added 22 points apiece for Baguio Centennial I.

The BCC golfers failed to flash their familiarity with the par-61 layout, settling for 89 points through Philip del Carmen’s 25 points, Bill Lawrence’s 22 and the 21 each of Francis Navarrete and Isonn Angheng.

Three points farther back at 86 points was Syndicate Golf Team, which drew 29 points from Jun Aqui, 24 from Tenny Aqui, 17 from Jesse Aqui and 16 from Andrew Eden in the five-to-play, four-to-count format event.

Benlife Golf Team was fourth with 83 points while Watercraft Ventures scored 82 points for fifth followed by Team Che’Lus (81), Eastridge Golf Club (77), IPI/Netforce (77), Veterans’ “Dugong Bughaw” (77) and Capitol Hills (74).

In Am division Flight C, Rey Palaganas’s 29 points towed Greenwater Meadows to the lead with 91 points for a seven-point advantage over Villa Cacho, which had 84 points in the event.

Rural Bankers I made 81 points followed by Guam Kool Swingers (80) and Beast Shot Golf Squad (72).

Over at the Camp John Hay course, Dugong Bughaw carded 106 points to grab the early lead in the Fil division Flight B. Team Surigao had 102 and Mamala Bay made 100.
