Adamson keeps FBL streak alive

Defending junior girls champion Adamson University kept its winning streak alive in the ongoing elimination round of the 2008 NCR Futures Basketball League (FBL), blanking OB Montessori, 30-0, for its sixth straight victory in the nine-team field.

San Beda College’s girls team likewise scored a win last Sunday, beating Diliman Prep School, 44-33, to remain at second with five wins against a single loss.

The mini-division saw Sta. Clara posting its fifth straight win, this time at the expense of Don Bosco Technical Institute, 54-21, and kept a one-game lead over idle but also undefeated Xavier School .

The four-month tournament is organized by Futures Sports & Events and sponsored by Primovit Multivitamins, Gatorade, Bacchus Energy Drink, TJ Purefoods Hotdogs, Accord Capital, and Philip’s Gadgets and Accessories.

In the midgets division, Sta. Clara humbled defending champion San Beda College-Alabang, 57-48, for its fourth straight win and a share of the lead with with Don Bosco Technical College , which shut out Sacred Heart, 30-0.

San Beda College suffered its first loss.

In junior division, which has four groups and 22 teams in all, Adamson moved up to solo second place in Group D, after beating Chiang Kai Shek, 30-0.
