Two powerhouse teams including back-to-back champion Arellano University, loom as the top picks for the title when 16th edition of the National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) comes off the wraps this Friday with the centerpiece event of basketball ushering hostilities at the Emilio Aguinaldo College sports complex.
Majority of the coaches from the 10 competing squads considered the three-peat seeking Chiefs and former champion EAC Generals as the teams to beat this year.
Experience and bench depth separate the two from the rest of the field, according to some team officials who graced the weekly PSA Forum at the Shakey’s UN Avenue branch on Tuesday.
“Definitely yung defending champion,”said basketball legend and PSBA-QC mentor Philip Cesar.
“Arellano and Emilio Aguinaldo College,” said Rizal Technological University’s Arlene Rodriguez.
Leo Isaac, architect of Arellano’s two straight title romp, admitted the school’s serious bid to make it three in a row, but downplayed what the others are saying about the strength of the Chiefs.
