Yakult 10-miler registration on

Registration for the 20th edition of the annual Yakult 10-Miler slated for Dec. 7 at the Cultural Center Complex grounds in Pasay City is now open.

This was announced by Michael Ong, Yakult Phils. Inc. sales and planning manager, yesterday.

Ong said that, in celebration of Yakult 30 years in the Philippines, all registrants will receive the new Yakult running singlets upon registration and all finishers will receive a commemorative Yakult t-shirt together with a bottle of Yakult health drink.

Cash prizes worth P45,000 are at stake.

The top three male and female finishers will receive P10,000, P5,000, and P3,000, respectively, plus trophies, while the fourth and fifth placers will receive P2,000 and P1,000. For the first time, a cash prize of P3,000 plus trophy will be awarded to the running team with the most number of entries.

In the 5K distance, the top three finishers will receive medals and Yakult gift packs. Age category winners in the 3K 6-9 and 10-12 divisions will receive medals and Yakult gift packs.

Interested runners and enthusiasts may register at the ground floor of the Vasquez Madrigal Plaza Bldg., 51 Annapolis St. in Greenhills, San Juan. Registration fee is P250 for the 3K, 5K, and 16K (10 mile) events. Registration ends Dec. 3.

Cresenciano Sabal and Ailene Tolentino are expected to defend their title.

Providing support on race day are the city governments of Manila, Pasay and Paranaque as well as the Manila Police Department, Southern Police District, MMDA, the Phil. National Red Cross, Phil. Center for Sports Medicine and the Spectrum Communications.
